Boyko Dossev studied at The National Ballet School in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he was a student of Bisser Deyanov. He went on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Ballet Pedagogy and received his Master’s Degree in Choreography at The National Conservatory “Professor Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia.
In 2016, Dossev also received his Master’s Degree of Science in Corporate and Organizational Communication from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
He has trained with renowned teachers including Irina Jacobson, Irina Kolpakova, Vladilen Semenov and Lloyd Riggins. Boyko previously danced with Jeune Ballet France in Paris, as well as Hamburg Ballet, under the direction of John Neumeier, Dresden State Ballet-Semperoper Dresden, and Boston Ballet.
Boyko Dossev received gold medals from The National Ballet Competition 1997 and Varna International Ballet Competition 2002. He has also appeared in numerous gala performances including “The Mega Gala Meeting of The Generations” at the Varna International Ballet Competition 2008.
Boyko’s repertoire includes the works of such choreographers as John Cranko, John Neumeier, Jiří Kylián, August Bournonville, George Balanchine, Oleg Vinogradov, and many others. Boyko has choreographed extensively and has created works for Semperoper Dresden, Hamburg Ballet, Festival Ballet Providence, Boston Ballet, Boston Ballet II, Boston Ballet School, Ballet Arkansas, Harvard University Ballet Company, and Emerson Dance Company. As a teacher, Boyko has taught at Boston Ballet School, University of Maryland, Wellesley College, The Dance Complex – Cambridge, A.R.T., Harvard University, Festival Ballet Providence, Ballet Arkansas, and at JMS in Toulouse, France.
Boyko Dossev is an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma School of Dance, Director of the Oklahoma Festival Ballet, and the OU School of Dance Summer Intensive Coordinator.
